10:54 a.m.

It's an overcast morning. Temps were around freezing earlier this morning. Barney and I walked for about 45 minutes during the 9am hour with temps in the low to mid 30s and little to no wind. It was pleasant weather. Good morning for birdwatching.

Barney and I went for a 36-minute walk yesterday evening. Temps were around 50 degrees at dusk. Some sunshine occurred. Many people were out walking around, including people walking dogs, which kept Barney interested and noisy.

I have walked Barney nearly every day or every day recently. On Saturday afternoon, I was gone for five hours, birdwatching along the lakeshore. On Sunday, Deb and I played with Gabbie in the sunshine for 90 minutes at an outdoor playground, and then we went birdwatching along the lakeshore for a couple hours. On Monday afternoon, I did yard work in our backyard for two hours. Yesterday afternoon, I did more yard work in our backyard for a little over one hour.

On Monday, I resumed exercise again on the elliptical in our basement. 25 minutes on Monday. 30 minutes yesterday.

Last Friday, I shopped at the Phoenix Earth Food Co-op, which was busy. On Sunday while on our way birdwatching, I filled our car with gasoline, and I went inside and bought snacks, but I left my gloves on and kept far away from a customer ahead of me. Yesterday, I shopped briefly at Claudia's health food store, Walgreens for Barney's Pupperoni, and Massarat's for Barney's dried and canned food, bird seed, and Cajun-spiced peanuts. I kept my gloves on in all three stores, and I kept my distance from people.

For Claudia's, I needed or wanted my vitamin B complex tablet. I was nearly out of what I had left. The B complex tablet covers B-12, which is missing from vegans' diets. I'm not a vegan. I still use honey on my hot grain cereals in the morning, and I crochet and wear wool. I eat a plant-based, whole-foods diet, except for the honey. I only buy local honey. Local maple syrup is much harder to find.

At Claudia's, I also bought the pea protein powder. I ran out of the protein a week or so ago. I drink a protein beverage every morning. The powder is mixed with water. I started the drinking the protein powder and taking the B-complex tablet last summer. I used to eat two fried eggs, sunny-side up, fried in Calder Dairy butter nearly every morning, and I had been eating fried eggs nearly every morning, year-round for many years. In recent years, I also used to eat a cup or a bowl of yogurt nearly every day too. Both would have provided protein. With my exercise, I wanted to ensure that I was getting enough protein, which is why I began taking the protein powder. I don't know if I need it. I need to try to eat more lentils, beans, and other protein-packing foods on a daily basis.

I started my plant-based, whole-foods diet on Thanksgiving weekend in 2018.

While at Claudia's, I also bought more hot grain cereals. Most of these cereals come from Bob's Red Mill. Both the co-op and Claudia's sell these cereals.

The woman was the second elderly patient in Iran to have survived the disease.

The other was a 91-year-old man from Kerman, in the southeast of Iran, the news agency said.

After being sick for three days, he recovered on Monday despite having pre-existing medical conditions including high blood pressure and asthma, it added.

The report did not say how the pair were treated.

The World Health Organization this month estimated the novel coronavirus kills 3.4 percent of all those infected.

But for people aged over 80 the fatality rate was 21.9 percent, according to a report the WHO carried out with the Chinese authorities.
