4:01 p.m.

Ryan Wichman, WTOL meteorologist, said that Doppler radar shows significant rotation in the area of route 613 and I-75. This is located south of North Baltimore. The town of Van Buren is immediately in the path of this rotation. The town of Arcadia next in line.

Local AM radio station 1370 WSPD broadcasts WTOL when a tornado warning exists in the viewing/listening area.

Ryan commented about the frustration of tornado sirens sounding all over Wood County per reports from others. That's due to a limitation with Ohio's emergency siren system.

For many years now, the NWS issues severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings for entire counties and for parts of counties when warranted. This tornado-warned storm is an example.

Only a tiny portion of southern or southeastern Wood County is under the tornado warning. It does not apply to the entire county. The rest of the tornado warning applied to northern portions of Hancock County.

Even though only the southern edge of Wood County fell under the tornado warning, ALL of the sirens sound in Wood County, including in Northwood, which is located next to Toledo and more than 30 minutes away from the part of Wood County that was under the warning.

This applies to other Ohio counties too. If only the extreme eastern edge of Lucas County was tornado-warned, the sirens in extreme western Lucas County would sound too even though the western part had no chance of being hit by the storm.

But of course, the sirens are meant for people who are outside. The sirens are not meant to be heard by people who are indoors.

In tornado country, such as Oklahoma, the siren system sounds only for the areas that are tornado warned, according to the NWS.

3:54 p.m.

A few minutes ago, the Cle NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Seneca County, due a storm a little north of Tiffin.

And now the Cle NWS issued a Tornado Warning for parts of Wood and Hancock counties.

3:16 p.m.

No new storms have formed west of Toledo. All of the activity is located southwest, south, southeast, and east of Toledo. Lucas County is located in the northwest corner of the watch box. The SPC believes that the bulk of the storm activity for the rest of the afternoon and evening will occur south and east of Toledo.

3:13 p.m.

The Cle NWS canceled the tornado warning for Ottawa and Sandusky counties. I think that the storm that became severe in that area was the same storm that dumped very heavy rainfall over West Toledo. The storm formed over Fulton County or maybe eastern Williams County.

summary...initial signs of storm development are evident in northern
indiana/northwest ohio. initial storms will be capable of large hail
and damaging wind gusts. upscale growth is expected to occur quickly
with this activity and linear segments that evolve will be primarily
capable of damaging wind gusts. a ww will likely be needed in the
next hour or two.

discussion...deepening cumulus clouds are evident across the
in/oh/mi border vicinity on visible satellite. despite low-level
cloud cover across indiana and ohio, enough heating and moisture
advection has taken place to nearly erode mlcin -- as suggested by
modified 12z iln sounding. with continued surface heating in several
pockets and dewpoints in the upper 60s to lower 70s f, buoyancy
should continue to increase to 1000-1500 j/kg mlcape across a broad
area. storm coverage is expected to increase as mid-level ascent
approaches from the northwest and a surface boundary continues to
sag southward. effective deep-layer shear of 30-40 kts will support
a few rotating storms capable of large hail and damaging wind gusts.
the hail threat should be limited to the more strongly rotating
storms given more modest mid-level lapse rates. shear vectors
parallel to the boundary will likely mean rapid upscale growth into
one or more linear segments that will primarily pose a threat for
damaging winds. a brief tornado cannot be ruled out given moderate
low-level veering present in kiln/kind vad profiles. storm mode and
weak low-level lapse rates will likely keep the tornado threat
minimal. a ww will likely be needed in the next hour or two.

Thanks to @mathewi for writing this. The manipulated video of “drunk Nancy” was spread by someone who operates a network of hoax news sites. He wasn't doxed like Greenwald has stated. When you share hoaxes you risk making yourself the story.

Ahh. If the best national political journalist, Glenn Greenwald, called it doxxing, then that's what happened.

One thing @RVAwonk and others have mentioned that's a little disturbing about this story is how Facebook apparently was more than happy to confirm this guy's identity and provide all kinds of details about his personal account etc.

Don't use social media. No Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, none of those smarmy silos.
