11:01 p.m.

Heavy rain ended about 10 minutes ago. Light rain falling now. Unless something new forms, we should experience only light rain for the next hour or two.

10:40 p.m.

A short while ago, our rain intensity decreased, and now the rain intensity is back to heavy to very heavy. Downpour.

10:22 p.m.

Yowzer. Very heavy rain is falling now. Heaviest rain of the evening, since we arrived home from the OWE Festival.

10:17 p.m.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch expired at 10:00 p.m. Thunderstorms were still rumbling through the area. Over the past hour, we have experienced a fair amount of moderate to heavy rain, but we have not received as much rainfall as other areas around Toledo. Radar showed more rain and thundershowers will move through Toledo yet tonight. Heavy rain is on our doorstep. More moderate to heavy rain stretches west along the OH-MI border.

This was issued a short time ago.

Arlington, Arcadia, Rawson, Vanlue, Van Buren, New Riegel,
Pemberville, Haskins, Bradner, Grand Rapids, Wayne, Bloomdale,
Bettsville and Risingsun.

8:07 p.m.

The rough weather continues to occur barely south of Toledo. We have been experiencing light rain and drizzle over the past hour. We are staying home this evening. No nighttime OWE festivaling this year. I guess that we should have went last night around 9:00 p.m. from the PBS.

New storms continue to form over extreme northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana. If we went to the festival now and tolerated the drizzle, no biggie, one of these strong cells could could hit us later while at the festival.

Storms exist in the Chicago area. It could be a bumpy night. Rough weather has been occurring over Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan this evening.

Radar estimates that 2 to 3 inches of rain has fallen over Wood County this afternoon and evening.

Storms in the area. Second Severe Thunderstorm warning of the day for Lucas County.

Last night, we spent the evening at the Paula Brown Shop, listening to Kyle play music. We stopped at the Beirut for a beverage. We picked up our pizza from Pizza Cat. Arrived at PBS around 7:50 p.m. with our pizza. Kyle played outside. We didn't make it to the Old West End festival last night.

Today, we arrived at Black Kite Coffee shop at 9:00 a.m. Then we watched the OWE Festival parade. Wandered around, visiting yard/garage sales, making a few purchases. Cooled off inside the Glass Museum. Browsed and shopped at the art and craft fair. Made it back to the beer garden. Got food from the vegan truck. Listened to some music. Very heavy thunder shower with dime-sized to nickel-sized hail moved through between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. We arrived back home at 4:00 p.m. to let Barney out and to take a break.

And now more storms are rumbling through the region again. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings exist from extreme northeast IN to to east of Toledo.

probability of watch issuance...40 percent

summary...a few severe thunderstorms are possible along an outflow
boundary into early evening. the need for watch issuance in the
short term is uncertain at this time.

discussion...strong thunderstorms have recently developed along an
outflow boundary across northern indiana. sufficient
heating/moisture has resulted in the development of mlcape into the
1500-2000 j/kg range to the warm side of the boundary. effective
shear of 25-35 kt will support some organized storm structures along
and to the immediate cool side of the boundary. steep lapse rates
and cool temperatures aloft will support a hail threat with the
strongest cells, while a localized damaging wind threat may also
develop, especially with any upscale growth that occurs later in the
convective evolution.

additional convection is developing upstream across southern wi and
northern il, which will move into the region toward evening. watch
issuance is possible if ongoing convection increases in coverage or
if upstream convection become more organized as it approaches the
area.

Facebook lawyer says users ‘have no expectation of privacy’

https://www.dailydot.com/debug/facebook-lawyer-no-expectation-of-privacy/

A lawyer for Facebook argued in court Wednesday that the social media site’s users “have no expectation of privacy.”

According to Law360, Facebook attorney Orin Snyder made the comment while defending the company against a class-action lawsuit over the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

“There is no invasion of privacy at all, because there is no privacy,” Snyder said.

In an attempt to have the lawsuit thrown out, Snyder further claimed that Facebook was nothing more than a “digital town square” where users voluntarily give up their private information.

“You have to closely guard something to have a reasonable expectation of privacy,” Snyder added.

That's some rich irony. O'Reilly, who used to be known for its tech books related to open source projects and other programs, requires new authors to have a silo account with a minimum narcissistic counter number. That's disgusting. Make me think little of future O'Reilly books.

And it's ironic that a book titled Open in the Work Place requires the author to have a silo account. That's the opposite of "open."
