Comfortably mild morning for Nov 4, 2018. Peak fall leaf color has occurred over the past week in West Toledo, especially in recent days.

The oaks are showing their rusty colors of red, yellow, orange, and brown with some green still existing. Some maples are showing brilliant, gaudy colors.

Yesterday mid-afternoon, Wildwood Metropark looked amazing. Rusty oaks and a section of woods loaded with yellow maples. A forest of yellow. It was sunny yesterday afternoon. The sun lit up the woodlot edges that border the grassy or prairie areas. Spectacular color yesterday.

We went to Oak Openings Metropark late yesterday afternoon, and it appears the bulk of the hardwoods were further along and past peak color. It was odd, noticing the didference between West Toledo and southwestern Lucas County.
