I bought 9- to 12-ounce rib-eye steaks at nearby Zavotski's, which is a local deli and butcher shop. I pan-cooked the steaks in a cast iron skillet on our stove top.
Deb steamed green beans that I picked from our backyard produce garden. She also made angel hair pasta that was topped with some butter from Calder Dairy, which is a dairy farm located about 30 minutes north of us. They make numerous excellent products.
Deb also created a mixture with the butter and herbs that I occasionally used with the steak. The salad contained ingredients from the Toledo farmers market, and maybe peppers from our garden.
We first learned about canned wine a few days earlier on Wed, Aug 16, 2017 when we visited Wine Flight, located in downtown Elmore, Ohio.
Everything was delicious. I liked mixing the juices from the steak with the simple pasta dish.
Our wonderful neighbors Kim and Brent stopped over and visited. The weather was fantastic. We drank more wine, chatted, and enjoyed the evening symphony orchestra of Scissor-grinder and Dog Day cicadas.
